A Transatlantic Move in the World of Small Business: A Critical Appointment in the U.S. Has Been Officially Announced!

The International Union of Tradespeople (UEB) has added another critical link to the major organizational drive it launched worldwide in the United States (U.S.). As part of the overseas initiatives coordinated by UEB U.S. President Yakup Akın, Mehmet Koçak, a well-known figure in the business world, has been officially appointed as the UEB U.S. State Representative for Virginia.

Under the visionary leadership of Founding President Mehmet Özdil, UEB—which transcends borders—has, with this strategic appointment, fully opened the doors to the American market for Turkish small business owners, artisans, and entrepreneurs.

A New Investment Bridge for Turkish Entrepreneurs in the U.S.

Following the appointment process, a high-level meeting was held with Mehmet Koçak, UEB’s U.S. Virginia State Representative, during which a comprehensive roadmap was established for Turkish business owners seeking to conduct trade across the United States or relocate their businesses to this region. The key strategic collaboration topics highlighted during the meeting were as follows:

  • Commercial Structure and Networking Group: Bringing together Turkish businesspeople operating in the state of Virginia under a single organizational umbrella and consolidating the region’s commercial strength.

  • Investment Opportunities and Consulting: Providing direct guidance to local producers, business owners, and entrepreneurs seeking to invest in the U.S. market regarding regional legal processes, market dynamics, and investment advantages.

  • Export and Trade Support: Establishing logistical, bureaucratic, and commercial bridges to enable small business owners and SMEs in Turkey to export their products to the U.S. market.

Mehmet Özdil: “We’ve Opened Yet Another Door for Our Small Business Owners and Business Community”

Assessing this strategic move from across the ocean and the union’s global goals, UEB Founding President Mehmet Özdil emphasized that they will increase the influence of small business owners in global trade, noting:

"As the International Small Business Association (UEB), we are working tirelessly in line with our global vision. As part of our organizational efforts in the United States, led with great coordination by our U.S. President, Mr. Yakup Akın, we have appointed Mr. Mehmet Koçak as the UEB Representative for the State of Virginia in the United States.

During our productive meeting with Mr. Mehmet Koçak, we held comprehensive discussions on the institutional structure of Turkish businesspeople in the state of Virginia, commercial activities in the region, new investment opportunities, and—most importantly—the strategic support we will provide to small business owners and entrepreneurs seeking to enter the U.S. market and grow their businesses there.

With this historic step, we have opened yet another new and powerful door for our business owners and entrepreneurs who wish to invest in the U.S. and develop transatlantic trade relations. I wish Mr. Mehmet Koçak outstanding success in this important role and hope that this appointment will be beneficial for our UEB family, our business community, and the entire business world. We will continue to represent our business community around the world by expanding our global network.”
